What’s Your Least Favourite Ab Exercise?
Okay guys, here is my least favourite Abs exercise in the whole world bar none!!!
“I absolutely hate hanging leg raises with a Vengance!”
So much so that if i’m not careful i catch myself pacing around the gym doing anything to delay the pain between sets….. You know the checking the phone for texts…. getting into a 2 minute conversation about random stuff with just about anyone (even myself sometimes if no-ones about).
However… I know i’ve got to put the reps in to keep what i’ve got or continually improve!!!
So what makes Hanging Leg Raises so Evil???
Simple answer is GRAVITY!!!
You have to hoist your legs up from below you and position them straight out in front of your body. All this whilst trying to maintain controlled form at a steady pace.
Check out how the trainer in the video performs 7-8 front reps….. Then 7-8 reps each side. This makes sure that he is:
Attacking the abs from most directions
Bringing deep core muscles such as the belt shaped Transverse abs into play
Using a multitude of deep core muscles
Keeping his reps in the energy sapping strength range required to make a big impact on his muscles.
